All-Dielectric Self-Supporting (ADSS) fiber optic cable is aerially installed fiber optic cable that has no metallic elements in its construction. In an ADSS cable, optical fibers are contained in an all-dielectric core and sheath. Justifying to its name, an ADSS cable does not contain any metallic components or strength members, that makes it suitable to install near electrical cables.
ADSS cables are installed aerially usually along high voltage power lines. Separate poles are not required to install for ADSS cables.
