China-based ZTT plans Expansion of its Indian manufacturing units for production of optical fiber cables. The group’s Indian subsidiary, ZTT India Private Limited has signed an MoU with the Economic Development Board (APEDB) of India’s Southern State of Andhrapradesh.
ZTT will invest approximately US$100 million for expanding its cable manufacturing operations in Andhrapradesh. The economic development Board of the state announced after the signing ceremony as reported by the local media.
The investment worth 700 Crores in Indian Rupees would create new jobs in the State related directly to ZTT’s manufacturing plant operations and indirectly to the associated sectors such as logistics and support services.
The State officials estimate around 400 new jobs associated directly with the fiber optic plant operations and around 250 jobs indirectly would be generated by ZTT’s investment for expansion.
ZTT established its manufacturing plant in India in 2013 as ZTT India Pvt. Ltd. The company focused on the production of Optical Ground Wires (OPGW). The factory is located in the Chittur District of Andhrapradesh, and is easily accessible from Chennai Airport, which is around 90 km away.
ZTT India is a subsidiary company of Jiangsu Zhongtian Technology Co., Ltd. (ZTT China). ZTT India mainly serves to India Power Grid and Telecom Industry with OPGW cable and Optical Fiber Cable. In 2015, ZTT India has also successfully entered the Power Transmission Line Construction with best EPC service and engineer team.
