Greenlight Networks has begun deployment of fiber optic network Greece this Week and the residents will get connected with Rochester’s faster broadband service. Greenlight selected Greece Janes/Kirk area to start deploying fiber optic network in the area.
Greenlight Networks offers an ultra-high-speed, broadband service to the residents and businesses. Greenlight announced its plans to deploy fiber optic networks in August 2018. Greenlight also is accepting orders in 50 Greenlight districts that cover the entire Town of Greece.
The Town of Greece with a population of less than 100,000 people is is in the northern part of the Monroe county in New York State in the United States. The town is bordered by the City of Rochesteron the east, the Town of Gates on the south, the towns of Parma and Ogden on the west, and Lake Ontario on the north.
The Town of Greece is a contiguous suburb of Rochester and the Morgan Quitno Awards, rates Greece in the ninth-overall-safest city in America and the sixth-safest city with a population of 75,000 to 99,999.
Greenlight officials said they are excited to begin construction of our fiber optic network in our first Greenlight District in the Town of Greece since the residents have shown interest to subscribe to the faster internet service if available. After the company announced its expansion plans in last summer, it has started getting inquiries from potential customers.
Greenlight had recruited more people to expand the team to accelerate deployments and respond to the customers as quickly as possible. The company added 20 employees in the second half of 2018. Greenlight imformed that they can build their network twice as fast and connect people that have requested our service as fast as possible.
The neighborhood in Greece, where the company is currently deploying is served by underground utilities. Greenlight recently started several construction projects in these types of neighborhoods and are working with many different contractors to continue to build our network in neighborhoods with underground utilities as well as neighborhoods served by the utility poles.
Underground fiber optic cable installation is clean as the cables, splice boxes or cabinets are not visible on the ground. It is good for the landscape but is difficult to conduct maintenance and repairing works. Accessibility is difficult in the case of underground installations apart from higher installation costs. Aerial installations on the other hand offers lower installation costs and easy access. The disadvantage with the aerial cabling is the hanging cables on the poles everywhere you look.
Greenlight Networks fiber optic network recently increased the speed of their standard Amazingly Fast service by 500% to 500 Mbps.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the addition of a fiber connection to a home can increase the home’s value up to 3%. A recent survey by the Fiber Broadband Association found that residents will pay about 8% more to rent an apartment with a fiber connection. In addition, the study found that a reliable, high-speed broadband connection was listed as the most important amenity by residents, when choosing an apartment or condo.
Greece Janes/Kirk qualified for construction first because the community showed enough demand by placing orders via the company’s website. At that time Greenlight worked with the Town of Greece to obtain the necessary permits to start construction of their fiber-optic network. Greenlight will continue to build their fiber-optic network throughout Greece in 2019 targeting areas of highest demand.
Greenlight Networks is an ultra-high-speed, broadband service provider, offering residential and small business customers Internet speeds up to 2,000 Mbps. Based in Rochester, NY and founded in 2011, the company builds, owns and operates its fiber-optic networks to provide its customers Rochester’s best Internet experience.
