In your new role as Manager FTTx* Area Planning you will lead a high performing team of approximately 20 Area Planners and Technical Support Specialists nationally.

* FTTx includes Fibre-To-The-Node/Basement/Premises and related technologies

You will take the lead in the:
Production of Network Planning Documents (NPDs) on time and to the highest quality standards.

Approval of Area Planning Documents (APDs) ensuring that planning standards are met.

Development and maintenance of FTTx Area Planning standards and templates aligned to wider company standards, policies and systems.

Development and ownership of business processes for FTTx Area Planning.

Development of tactical Area Planning solutions where standard arrangements are unsuitable.

Request and refresh of Telstra regional planning and volumetric data, consisting of physical network infrastructure, addresses and services in operation details for area planning consumption.

Trials relating to planning and design, for new access technology introduction.

Development and leadership of a high performing team and the people in the team.

Your Skills and Experience:
Extensive post-graduate experience in the telecommunications industry, specifically in access carrier networks (Telecommunication Access Network Providers)

Extensive Management experience and proven success in a similar leadership role.

Bachelor or Engineering in Telecommunications, Electrical or Similar discipline, or comparable experience.

Capital budget and Total Cost of Ownership awareness

Extensive knowledge of fixed access technologies and distribution fibre and copper networks

Past implementation of business processes to support scale of telecommunication services.
Consultant and Contractor management

Experience in geospatial applications and access network design principles and capacity planning

Australian Communication and Media Authority accreditation, formally Austel or ACA licensing and awareness of Telecommunication Cabling Provider Rules 2015 or knowledge of.
High level verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
