Fibrehoods has selected Melville as the next suburb for its aerial fiber optic services to its subscribers.
The company has already provided fiber broadband services to several Gauteng suburbs, including Craighall, Craighall Park, Dunkeld, and Atholl – with speeds of up to 100Mbps available.
Fibrehoods, owned by RMBH Holdings and Waterfall Investment Company, is a leading provider of fibre to the home (FTTH) service in South Africa. The joint venture has meant they have been able to deploy quickly and more cost-effectively with their aerial network.
Since the aerial cable network utilises existing poles to hand the fibre optic cables, the deployment speed is faster compared to the duct installation. The advantages of aerial fibre cable network are that it is easier to maintain, faster to deploy, economical and avoids disruptions to the residents.
