Russian fixed operator Trans Telekom, TTK has expanded the coverage of its fiber optic network in the city of Khabarovsk in Russia. This expansion of network covered an additional 2,600 households in 28 apartment houses. The coverage of TTK’s Fiber To The Building network is around 170,000 households in Khabarovsk. The Gorkiy residential neighborhood was covered with the network this year, and broadband services were launched.
Trans Telekom (ТрансТелеКо́m (ТТК)) is one of the major telecommunications companies in Russia. TTK owns one of the largest networks in the world of fiber optical cables. The company is a full subsidiary of Russian national railway operator, Russian Railways. TTK has been actively involved in deploying and connecting broadband users in the retail market since early 2011. Since then, their number has grown by almost 10 times, and in 2014 the company went abroad targeting 2 million users. TTK’s strategy stipulates that by the end of 2015 it will serve 2.3 million broadband subscribers. Community market, which the company aims to are settlements with less than 100,000 people, and they accounted for almost 40% of all connections.
