Hexatronic Group has completed the previously announced acquisition of Rochester Cable. Rochester Cable is one of the main designers and manufacturers of harsh environment electro-optical cables in the U.S., from TE Connectivity Corporation. Hexatronic Group announced the acquisition in October 3, 2022, and the group received the regulatory approval on 3 March 2023.

The acquisition broadens Hexatronic’s offering within fiber optic submarine communication cables to include dynamic working cables that can transmit both data and power.

The acquisition includes all business activities, land, and buildings, including manufacturing facilities. The acquisition has been fully financed with a senior bank loan.

Under the terms of the deal, the acquired business includes the land and buildings of the production sites and office buildings and the $55 million purchase price is to be paid in cash, fully financed with senior debt.

Rochester Cable is a designer and manufacturer of electro-optical cables for operation in harsh environments serving industries such as oil and gas, sensing, defence, oceanographic, and subsea applications.

Boasting 130 employees based in Culpeper, Virginia, Rochester Cable also has a 40,000 square metre production site, where the company manufactures armoured electro-optical working cables that provide strength and transmit power, control signals, and data.

Hexatronic offers a complete range of passive fiber optic infrastructure. We design, develop, manufacture, and market our own products, solutions, and services to work together optimally. Also, we represent leading worldwide manufacturers of specialized tools and equipment.

Owning our complete production chain gives us great flexibility and enables us to respond quickly to unique customer requests. With innovation, vast technical knowledge, a high level of service, and complete commitments, we work every day to improve our offering.

Submarine fiber optic cable demand is increasing everywhere. Recently, Bahrain's Batelco has started deploying around 1,400 km long submarine fiber optic cable connecting Middle East countries. Developments along the Red-sea coast of Saudi Arabia open a new avenue for growth to the subsea cable business.
