Bengaluru-based Tejas Networks says the company has bagged an order worth US$13 million from a service provider in South East Asia. Tejus Networks has signed a supply contract with the service provider.

As per the contract, Tejas will supply and install its award-winning TJ1400 ultra-converged broadband products (TJ1400UCB) to extend high-speed broadband services to underserved rural communities in the region. The project is expected to be executed within the next 12 months.

Tejas offers a series of advanced GPON OLT and ONT elements designed for next-generation Optical Access networks deployed in FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) and FTTB (Fiber-to-the-Building) formats. It addresses the rapidly growing service provider need for flexible, high-capacity fixed-line broadband solutions to support emerging video applications (e.g., HDTV, VOD) in residential deployments, aggregation of backhaul traffic from LTE cell sites, enterprise VPN Services, and SDWAN networks based on NFV paradigm. Tejas has a full GPON solution that includes both TJ1400 OLT (Optical Line Terminal) and TJ2100N ONT (Optical Network Terminal) platforms.

TJ1400 offers one of the densest OLT realizations in the market today in a 1U/2U/4U form factor with a myriad of transport protocol options Ethernet, OTN, and C/DWDM. TJ2100N is a versatile ONT product family available in multiple flavors supporting 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi, USB, and POTS interfaces. TJ2100N can be solar-powered and is available in custom ruggedized enclosures for rural environments.

Tejas GPON products are fully compliant with ITU-T G.984 and G.988 set of standards. Upcoming releases will support higher speed next-generation PON standards such as XG-PON1, XGS-PON, NG-PON2 standards through simple upgrades.

Mr. Sanjay Nayak, Managing Director and CEO of Tejas Networks said, “We are delighted to be chosen for this prestigious project that will enable a sizable rural population to experience the tangible benefits of high-speed, reliable, and affordable wireless internet for the first time. TJ1400UCB is an innovative product that provides the flexibility to rapidly rollout broadband services on optical fiber, wireless, or copper media, as per available infrastructure, at highly affordable costs. Tejas was selected because of our cutting-edge products, as well as our vast experience in timely rollouts of large-scale broadband access and optical transmission networks around the globe, including Government of India’s BharatNet and Railway WiFi projects.”

Dr. Kumar N. Sivarajan, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Tejas Networks, said, “We are excited that Tejas has been selected as the primary telecom equipment supplier for this challenging project. Ubiquitous and affordable broadband has become a necessity in modern life and is a critical tool to deliver advanced services such as telemedicine, e-education, online banking, eCommerce, and e-governance services. TJ1400UCB leverages our unique software-defined hardware™ architecture to seamlessly integrate state-of-the-art broadband access technologies and high-capacity packet transmission services in one shelf with the added benefits of unified management, space reduction, and power savings to achieve a cost-effective rollout.”
