Rostelecom has been busy in upgrading its telecommunication networks in many parts of Russia to provide ultra high speed broadband services to its subscribers. Latest update from the operator says it is continuing modernization of its network in the Altay region. Rostelecom launched a fiber optic network over Gigabit Passive Optical Network technology in the towns of Kulunda and Pavlovsk. Subscribers can now access GPON in all cities and towns, as well as 22 villages in the region. The operator also expanded its Fiber to the Home network in the Sosnovka and Mezhdurechye residential neighborhoods in the city of Penza.
