Orange Espana announces its plan to invest around 2.5 million Euros for extending its fiber-optic broadband services (FTTH) to Alcala de Guadaira, near Seville. Orange would be able to cover around 15,000 households with the expansion of the network. This number corresponds to roughly 57 percent of the town’s population. Orange targets to finish the work by the end of this year.

The telecom operator had recently revealed its achievement in telecom services in Spain by serving 1 million subscribers. This is a milestone achievement for the company considering the competition in the country. Orange is now covering around 7.4 million households with its fiber-optic networks. Orange said its FTTH network would cover 80 percent of all Spanish towns with populations over 20,000 by the year 2020. To reach this target, the operator will invest approximately 1.5 billion to 1.7 billion Euros within the next four years.
