Phase3 Telecom expands fibre optic cable link in West Africa
WEST Africa’s largest independent fibre optic infrastructure and telecommunications services provider Phase3 Telecom has announced plans to commence the deployment of aerial fiber optic infrastructure from Kano in Nigeria to Gazaoua in the Republic of Niger. The network, which will run from Kano state through Katsina state before arriving at Gazaoua will be 228 km long. It is expected to be completed in the coming months.

AT&T looking to fill 500 North Texas jobs
AT&T announced Tuesday they intend to hire for 500 positions across North Texas, largely to help with the company’s Project Velocity IP, a multibillion-dollar investment plan to expand and enhance the company’s wireless and wired networks. The jobs include retail sales, network technician, and call center positions in cities including Allen, Arlington, Burleson, Carrollton, Dallas, Farmers Branch, Fort Worth, Frisco, Garland, Granbury, Grand Prairie, Hurst, Irving, Lancaster, McKinney, Richardson, Rockwall, and Sherman. There are full- and part-time positions available.

TSGN to deliver affordable high-speed broadband
TS Global Network Sdn Bhd (TSGN) aims to leverage its network of VSATs (very small aperture terminals) and employ cutting-edge satellite communications (Satcom) technology to deliver high-speed and affordable broadband to underserved and new areas in Malaysia. TSGN, Satcom services, and solutions specialist is investing over RM250mil within the next five years for its Satcom programme to deliver next-generation technology to the Asean region.
