M1 Starts Deployment of Fiber Optic Cables

Singapore based internet service provider, M1 has decided to speed up rolling out broadband networks to the customers who had been waiting after applying for the services. Singapore’s media reports that the service provider has taken things in its own hands after a change in the ownership of the entity rolling out Singapore’s high-speed fibre broadband network did little to ease delays in delivering customer orders.

M1 will hook up its own business customers to the fiber optic network, a job previously undertaken solely by network builder NetLink Trust, formerly OpenNet. ISPs like M1 buys fiber optic networks wholesale from NetLink Trust and then retail their use to customers.
