The go2 People are working in partnership with a contractor involved with the National Broadband Network (NBN) roll out.

We are looking to employee experienced Technicians for immediate starts in Cairns & Townsville.

Your main duties will involve:

• Install Fibre to the Node (FTTN), Install Fibre to the Premises (FTTP)
• Fibre Splicing, OTDR Testing
• MDU Cabling and Hardware Installation
• Structured Cabling & terminations
• Pit inspections
• Install Underground Service Drop, Bulk Drops

You MUST have the following to be considered:

• Certificate III in Telecommunications
• Open Cable Licence; and Fibre Optic Endorsement (Install and terminate optical fibre cable on customer premises)
• Experience using an OTDR and PON Meter
• NBN Safety and Awareness
• CPR Training (within last 12 months)
• Construction White Card
• Drivers Licence (must be valid)
• Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Rescue
• Power Awareness
• Remove non-friable asbestos
• Supervise asbestos removal

Additional requirements:

• You MUST be able to provide a Federal Police Check
• You MUST be able to pass a medical and drug & alcohol test
• You MUST be well presented and have a friendly demeanour as you will be engaging with house owners, tenants and the general community on a daily basis

This project is scheduled for roughly 12 months at this point in time and will offer stable work in that period, Monday to Friday with 40+ hours per week.
