The Role:
We are currently looking for a calibre fibre characterisation technician, preference with experience in the characterisation of the inorganic fibres particularly in basalt fibre.
Responsibilities
1- Responsible to carry out the operation of various fibre characterisation equipment i.e. liner density Analyzer for (BCF) Basalt Continuous Filament Yarn, tensile tester, Titer tester and microscope using standard SOP’s and given instructions.
2- Responsible to prepare the samples for characterisation using vacuum impregnation unit, polisher, and etc using standard SOP and given instructions..
3- Support the technologist in Development and validation of new analytical methods.
4- Support the technologist to prepare technical reports, internal documentations.
5- Follow and maintain the hardware and laboratory as per the quality systems (ISO 9001/ISO 17025).
6- Support and provide input to the characterisation program for basalt fibre/rock property analysis.
7- Contribute to the internal quality, safety and physical condition audits of the centre
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Fresh or experience in the inorganic fibre manufacturing industry and R&D activities. Graduate with Diploma in Material science, Engineering, Chemistry or related discipline. Preference with the candidate with knowledge /experience about:
– Basalt fiber and other inorganic fiber characterisation.
– Basalt and glass fibre.
– Quality system ISO 17025
– Have good interpersonal, communications and presentation skills.
