R&M Expands the US Operations by Acquiring Optimum

Switzerland-based fiber optic and data cabling solutions provider R&M has expanded its operations in the United States by acquiring Maryland’s Optimum Fiberoptics Inc. The acquisition makes R&M’s logistic channels more powerful and effective to respond to its customer requirements quickly.

The Swiss maker R&M caters to the fiber optic network, data cabling market. It is a popular brand in Middle East Asia and European countries. The acquisition will add new capabilities to R&M’s production and sales activities.

R&M (Reichle & De-Massari AG) is a leading global producer of future-proof products and systems for communication and data networks. The company’s close collaboration with certified partners results in pioneering connectivity solutions in the sectors LAN, Public and Telecom Networks as well as Data Centers. Optimum Fiberoptics Inc., is a U.S based fiber optic cable and connectivity specialist having production facilities in Elkridge, Maryland. Optimum was Founded in 1997 and is a premium manufacturer and supplier of fiber management products for the commercial, industrial and governmental market. It has developed strong customer relationships in Washington D.C. and the Mid-Atlantic states supported by its quality products and its agility to provide customized solutions within short lead-times.

With its new location on the East Coast, R&M can offer the full range of its products and services nationwide. Further investments will follow over the next 24 months to further strengthen R&M’s presence in the North American market.
