PolyOne Acquires Fiber-Line

Ohio based PolyOne Corporation, a global provider of plastic materials used in the fiber optic industry has announced the acquisition of famous water blocking cable solutions provider Fiber-Line for a US$130 million. Both PolyOne and Fiber-Line products cater to the fiber optic cable manufacturing segment.

Over a period of more than 32 years, Fiber-Line has established itself as a leading supplier of materials serving the fiber optic cable, oil & gas, industrial and consumer industries. FIBER-LINE® offers a complete line of water-swellable cable components in dry fiber optic cable designs.

Fiber-Line owns five manufacturing locations in North America, Europe, and Asia. Fiber-Line provides material science and polymer formulation expertise to engineer specified performance characteristics for fiber. These include strength, abrasion and chemical resistance, and specialty colorants. Their broad range of products and customized solutions focus on the protection and extension of the life of communication cables.

PolyOne expects to add nearly $100 million in revenue in 2019.

PolyOne will utilize its proven invest-to-grow integration strategy to increase innovation for Fiber-Line customers, by leveraging deeper formulation expertise and a global commercial presence that accelerates growth.
