TE and 4iG to Construct New Subsea Cable

The successful incumbent will perform the following duties/tasks in new site build processes:

Prepare:

Approval for site access or special key
Subcontractor and client contractors’ information
Schedule for Kickoff and confirm schedule with all the attendees
Obtain relevant documents (i.e. TSSR+ Material BOQ + Scope of work in contract+ structure analysis report+ approvals)
Actions on kickoff:

Confirm drawing and layout on site, verify the information in the TSSR and drawing.
Confirm material BOQ on site—(CK material, Huawei locally purchase material such as poles-brackets, I-beams, Special material).
Confirm scope of work on site;
Take kick off meeting minutes and obtain all signatures of attendees.

Output:

finalize BOQ;

finalize TSSR/Drawing;
Ensure that As-Build documents are prepared and submitted on time
Progress monitor

Submit daily report to RPM/PCM
Check subcontractor team, tools and OHS documents and PPE equipment check.
Milestone achievement forecast
Power connection plan and implementation;
Troubleshooting on site
Materials management

Huawei main equipment delivery notes—MR specialist;
CK material delivery notes—MR specialist;
Antenna poles and antenna brackets—MR specialist;
Confirm Material VO quantity
Confirm scope of work on site based on contract specification
Materials remain records per site—Cabinet/ BTS/ DBS/ feeders/ Fibers / jumpers/ EMP/ Connectors/ Boards/ Power cable
Subcontractor management

Monitor daily work of Subcontractor;
Check Subcontractor team, tools, OHS documents and PPE equipment.
Complete daily quality control checklist;
Implement and follow the regional plan;
Materials records per site—Cabinet/ BTS/ DBS/ feeders/ Fibers / jumpers/ EMP/ Connectors/ Boards/ Power cable
Ensure that As-Build documents are prepared and submitted on time;
Quality management

Conduct daily site quality checks and control;
SQA
FQA
Minimum requirements

Matric or relevant tertiary qualification

Climbing certificate

Minimum 3 years civil works (i.e. new site build) experience within the telecommunications environment.

Knowledge and experience of:

Technical Site Survey (TSS)
Managing snag clearance on site
Managing of PAC sign-off with MTN
Manage equipment collection and delivery by subcontractor
Knowledge of fiber installations, Splicing, and Testing
Knowledge of Civil work and quality standards
Excavation, re-bar, concrete, etc.
Ability to read site plans
Basic software commissioning
Rope access skills and Fall arrest
