Currently HUBER+SUHNER, a Swiss based multinational company and leading global supplier of components and systems for electrical and optical connectivity, has an opportunity for a dynamic and self-driven Fiber Optic Sales and Application Engineer to join a vibrant and energetic team, and a successful customer focused organisation to promote and develop our Fiber Optic business in Australia.
In this role you will be:
Providing proactive FO Sales and Application engineering support to assist our sales team in identifying and winning new business opportunities.
Preparing quotations and do regular follow ups, manage customer orders, and issue order confirmations, liaise with customers on technical and commercial issues, deal with customer complaints, returns and quality issues.
Understanding of technology areas preferably from Data Centers, Fiber-to-the-Antenna (4G/LTE) and other Fiber Optic Communication and Industrial Applications.
Maintaining a clear understanding and competitive positioning of HUBER+SUHNER’s business capabilities and differentiators.
Contributing accurate and timely information with relation to business activities.
Contributing as a team player towards the expanded external and internal Sales Team.
To be successful in this role it is preferable that you have:
A degree in Engineering or related technical qualification(s).
Relevant technical and commercial experience in Fibre Optics and/or familiarity of FO cables, connectors, components, cable systems and Fiber management systems.
Field experience at installation and application level, relevant to the Communication solutions related to Fibre Optics.
An understanding of sales and general commercial terms.
Experience with ERP systems and other commonly used business tools (e.g. SAP, MS Office Suite, etc.)
Willingness to travel when required and maintain a flexible working pattern.
Good communication skills in both verbal and writing in English with good presentation skills is essential.
Experience of dealing directly with customer will be preferred.
