TV, Internet and phone service provider MaxxSouth Broadband had launched 1 Gbps broadband services to the subscribers in Starkville, Mississippi. The provider says the broadband speed is one of the highest available speeds in the area. The initiative by the service provider will create new technical and administrative jobs in telecommunication sectors, while keep the society updated with the latest advanced communication technologies.
Starkville is a city in Mississippi, United States and is the county seat of Oktibbeha County. The Starkville Micropolitan Statistical Area includes all of Oktibbeha County. Apart from Fiber to the home network, the company creates sports network as well called MaxxSouth Sports that will broadcast high school and community college athletic events, as well as games from community sports leagues to 44,600 cable customers
The channel already has an aggressive lineup that will include full coverage of at least eight games per week. The network’s production units will deliver full, high-definition picture quality and live transmission—an unprecedented endeavor for a local cable provider.
The new fiber to the home network provides more bandwidth and the capacity for advanced video, Internet and phone services. The network is expected to come online within the next few weeks. Optical fibers are future proof and allows up-gradation and development on the existing network without replacing the fiber cables. Starkville marks the second city where MaxxSouth now operates a fiber-optic network. Last year, a fiber-to-the-home network launched in Carthage, Mississippi.
MaxxSouth Broadband acquired the group of cable systems formerly serviced by MetroCast Mississippi in 2014 November. MaxxSouth’s service area for video, high-speed Internet and digital phone stretches more than 320 kilometers and encompasses the academic communities of Oxford (University of Mississippi) and Starkville (Mississippi State University). MaxxSouth is a subsidiary of the reputable and diversified media holding company Block Communications Inc. www.maxxsouth.com
