Athens city news reports that the County is considering an option to lay fiber optic cables along with the sewer ducts. The long-awaited and delayed project is now expected to be in the bidding process by this year summer
Ridgeland based C Spire (Cellular South Inc) is all set to launch FIber to the business entities in Tupelo city. As per the plans, C Spire will deploy high speed broadband services through optical fibers. The Daily Journal reported that C Spire began rolling out its Fiber to the Home program in 2014. C Spire delivers internet speeds of up 1 Gbps – 100 times faster than typical home internet connections.
We heard such a good news from OFS press release that Verizon Communications Inc. had decided to procure and install OFS’ EZ-Bend® multiple dwelling units (MDU) drop cable which Verizon will use in their MDU FIOS applications. OFS’ leading MDU drop cables will support cost economical installation of fiber to the home or fiber to the building. Optical fiber deployments at the premises have to be cost-effective in order to make it attractive to the subscribers.
The City of Evansville and Vanderburgh County, IN through an agreement with AT&T Inc. will have the state’s largest city/county optical fiber cable network. The OPT-E-MAN fiber optic network as expected will be faster and enable more efficient communications and operations among fire, police, park, water, transportation, and other city facilities.
