HFCL Recieves Advanced PO from BSNL for Equipment Supply

One of India’s leading fiber optic product suppliers, HFCL (Himachal Futuristic Communications Limited) has won contracts worth around US$185 million for the supply of electronic equipment to build fiber optic backbone networks for the armed forces. The advanced purchase order for procurement has been issued by the State-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL), the national telecom operator in India which is responsible for the deployment. The backbone network will utilize Dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) technology to deliver optical signals.


BTRC Identifies Grameenphone’s Network for Sonali Bank as illegal

Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) says the mobile operator Grameenphone has provided internet services to Sonali Bank, which is a violation of country’s telecom rules. Grameenphone deployed fiber optic cables to provide digital connectivity and provide online transactions of the Sonali bank, which the regulator noted as against the licensing rights given to the Grameenphone and termed the network as illegal.
